Quality Over Quantity

The owners of J&J Custom Design started this business for two reasons:

1st. They have a passion for creativity and design through the use of fabrics.

2nd. Ability to give something back to the community.  Working with fabric and sewing machines – a hand crafted art is disappearing in this country.  We are committed to and are in the startup phase of developing a program that will work with ‘at risk’ teens and teach them a skill.  Helping to learn a trade that they can use to make a living or start a business of their own.  In the future we will work with industry suppliers to help with job placement and other career related opportunities.

While working in the upholstery business has not our primary career, it is now the “next act” that we are focused on.  Jo Ann has a background in non-profit accounting.  She has been actively running a sewing machine for the last 30 years making quilts, children’s clothing, window treatment, custom pillows, and light upholstery.  John has been in the IT industry for as many years as an IT Director and business development manager.  He has been around boats for most of his life and had previously owned a marine electronics business where he worked on boats every day.   Together they bring their experience to turn out a hand crafted quality product that both J&J and their clients can be proud of.  Working with material is very personal and is a reflection of our client’s inspiration and our ability to make that into reality.
